Transference of knowledge is a goal that, as educators, we envision as the ultimate stop for our learners. Many questions arise in connection to this thesis, amongst them: What can we do to support our learners to apply all the knowledge they have and display their communicative ability in an efficient and effective way?
Promoting skills, not only language skills, but critical thinking ones, has been on the top of our list for some time now. When enhancing Critical thinking we might not have enough evidence to support achievement. There are now several ways of understanding the path to success. one of them relies on backwards design that suggests establishing not only clear goals but stating desired evidence in advance to assert what students achieved. Through simple, practical, and motivating routines the Making Thinking Visible strand suggests students can be supported in the process of thinking, reflecting, and
analysing while enjoying learning English in a fun and motivating way.
The aim of this session is to discuss a series of simple, practical, and usable thinking routines that can be taken to the classroom, and that will be helpful for students to continue to develop their communicative competence in English.
