We must enter, not evade, the tangles of teaching so we can understand them better and negotiate them with more grace, not only to guard our own spirits but also to serve our students well. Teachers can gain more knowledge about their teaching by not only focusing on the intellectual, cognitive and meta-cognitive aspects of practice, but also the spiritual, moral and emotional non-cognitive aspects of reflection that acknowledges the inner life of teachers. This interactive talk invites participants on a reflective journey through the lens of the Framework For Reflecting On Practice that includes exploring a language teacher’s philosophy, principles, theory, practice and critically reflecting beyond practice.
